Flag Football
Our youth flag football program teaches teamwork, fundamental skills, and healthy competition using Christian values. With fun practices and games, players learn to work together, stay positive, follow the rules, and be respectful. Our goal is foster a football community where kids and families enjoy the game.
Spring 2025
When? March 29 - May 10
March 29th - practice/meet the Coach
April 5th - May 3rd - regular season
May 10th - Playoffs (championship medals for division winners)
What? 45 minutes of practice, 5 minute devotion, 45 minutes of game play
Times? 9:00am - 10:35am (optional positional development at 8:30am before practices)
Who? Kindergarten - 12th grade boys and girls (co-ed for K-8th) - beginners and experienced players welcome!
Where? Franke Soccer Fields: 3552 Rennau Dr, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064
Why? Experienced coaches, healthy competition, devotions and prayer before games, play with friends

Derek Fine

Derek Fine is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Fine's athletic prowess emerged at Sallisaw High School, where he set school records for receiving yards in a season and career. Selected as an All-State Tight End and participating in the Oil Bowl All-Star game, Fine's success brought pride to his community. At the University of Kansas, Fine excelled as a tight end and on special teams, earning the role of team captain in 2006 and 2007. He helped lead the Jayhawks to a 12-1 record and a 2008 Orange Bowl Championship in his senior season.
Fine was drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. His NFL career included stints with the Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, and Houston Texans. Fine's journey from Oklahoma to the NFL is an inspiration to young athletes everywhere. Derek is most excited on days when it’s good football weather. Derek Fine resides in Kansas City with his wife, Lindsey, and their three children, working as an insurance broker with USI Insurance.
